MY SON (TONY SHELDON) WAS NOMINATED LAST MONTH, FOR THE PRESTIGIOUS BRITISH THEATRE AWARD, THE OLIVIER. (BEST ACTOR IN A MUSICAL, FOR PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT).
ALTHOUGH HE DIDN’T WIN, THE NOMINATION WAS THRILLING ENOUGH, AS IT WAS HIS FIRST APPEARANCE ON THE LONDON STAGE .
A LONG WITH SEVERAL AWARDS HE WON FOR THE SHOW IN AUSTRALIA, IT WILL LOOK VERY GOOD ON HIS BIO, WHEN HE OPENS ON BROADWAY IN 2011.
MISS LAMOND WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY BOOKINGS FOR THAT TIME, AS SHE PLANS TO BE IN THE AUDIENCE OPENING NIGHT. YES!!

I AM SO PLEASED AND PROUD TO BE PART OF THE FIRST MELBOURNE CABARET CONVENTION TAKING PLACE IN July 2010.
Ever since the Sydney Cabaret Convention was dumped by the Sydney Council, in 2004, there has been a great yawning hole in the Australian Cabaret scene. Cabaret is a great training ground for performers of any age. For audiences, a place of funny, edgy ,fringe style entertainments, or nostalgic, legendry musical evenings. Not to mention, a cheap night out!
The Tilbury Hotel at Woolloomooloo, brilliantly run by GEOFFREY WILLIIAMS & MICHAEL FREUNDT, Sydney’s KINGS OF CABARET, was for many years the place to go for just such a show. After that came to an end, the Sydney Cabaret Convention regularly packed the Upper and Lower Town Halls, and discovered some brilliant talent. It also paved the way for performers such as David Campbell, Tim Draxl, and Yours Truly to go to New York to appear at New York Cabaret Convention.
Trevor Ashley has now picked up the baton, and is presenting his now famous SHOW QUEEN series on Sundays at the Kit and Kaboodle room at THE SUGAR MILL in Kings Cross. I was privileged to kick off the season in March.
But for now……Melbourne Here I Come!
